Historic Markers

Why Add a Historic Marker?

Historic markers are a beautiful way to celebrate the story of your home and the families who lived there before you. Throughout the Five Points Historic District, these markers help preserve the character and history of the neighborhood while allowing residents and visitors to learn more about the homes that make our community special.

Each marker recognizes the original homeowner and the year the home was built, creating a lasting tribute to the history of Five Points.

Historic District Boundaries & Marker Eligibility

Homes located within the official boundaries of the Five Points Historic District may be eligible to order a historic marker recognizing the history of their home.

Historic markers are available only for homes located within the district boundaries shown on the map, which are highlighted in darker gray. Homes located outside of this highlighted area are not eligible for a Five Points Historic District historic marker.

Eligible homes may order a marker that includes the original homeowner’s name and the home’s construction date, helping preserve the architectural and historical legacy of the neighborhood.

Ordering a Historic Marker

For many years, our neighbor Judy Perszyk has graciously assisted residents with ordering historic markers. Judy has extensive knowledge of the neighborhood and was one of the original five residents instrumental in securing the historic designation for Five Points.
